Fire Pits &/or Bonfires Inside City Limits
Open burning is not permitted in the City of Terre Haute except in a certified burn pit. This burn pit can be store bought or homemade. The burn pit must be a safe distance from any structure. The burn pit can be made from steel or concrete. You are allowed to burn sticks or small wood such as 1”x1”. The sticks and wood must be completely within the burn pit. You are not permitted to burn items such as building materials, leaves, and trash. Bonfires are prohibited within the City of Terre Haute.
