Abandoned Animals
If you believe an animal has been abandoned by its owner please contact our 311 Citizen Contact Center during normal business hours. Click here to see our Center’s hours of operation. If it is after normal business hours you can contact the Vigo County Dispatch non-emergency line at 812-232-1311, or if you feel the situation is an emergency please dial 911.
According to the Terre Haute City Code §6-86 Animal Care
g. Abandonment No owner of an animal shall abandon such animal. Persons who violate this Section shall be subject to a fine of a minimum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) for each offense.
