If you believe an animal has created a public nuisance please contact our 311 Citizen Contact Center during normal business hours. Click here to see our Center’s hours of operation. If it is after normal business hours you can contact the Vigo County Dispatch non-emergency line at 812-232-1311, or if you feel the situation is an emergency please dial 911.
According to the Terre Haute City Code §6-69 Definitions, (hh.) Public Nuisance. an animal is considered a public nuisance if it allowed to:
(4) Bark, whine, howl, or make other sounds common to its species in an annoying, excessive or continuous manner.
Allowing an animal to be a public nuisance is a violation of the City ordinance and can result in fines and/or the animal being impounded.
